Irrational Games. Dahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Irrational games is right, because that describes the decision by Ken Levine to shutter the studio hot off the success of Bioshock infinite, or so I thought.

I bought BioShock infinite as part of the humble 2K bundle, which featured the Bioshock trilogy. I bought it because most, if not all other game reviewers seem to have played a jewel-encrusted golden gift from the treasure vaults of Xerxes, but I played a game that I'd probably only have considered renting if it weren't for that bundle and irrational's demise at the hands of that maniac Ken Levine. Part of the problem maybe because I’m playing Bioshock Infinite first, which I think is a prequel to the original Bioshock.

Anyway enough blabbering. This is my third paragraph and I haven’t even started talking about Bioshock infinite. Basically you're Booker DeWitt, a former pinkerton agent who is sent to retrieve a woman named Elizabeth Comstock, who is being held in some sort of tower. Oh boy we've got our first strike: A story that’s basically rapunzel with less hair and more guns. Speaking of guns the gun-play gets stale even with the help of tears and vigors. Tears are rips in the space time continuum created by Elizabeth to aid you in your fight against the founders, who love and hate America at the same time or the Vox Populi, led by Daisy Fitzroy who basically a female Pol Pot. Vigors are basically powers used to counter enemy attacks.

The gunplay gets stale so I usually get rather bored after about 20-40 minutes of gameplay, however the story, initially just rapunzel on drugs, becomes an intriguing tale in which theres a civil between the Founders and the Vox.

Anyway i'm bored as I want to play GRID autosport so here’s the verdict. For guilty we have repetitive combat, suspicious graphics (Are they meant to be this cartoonish? Or are the graphics just that bad?) and framerate issues. (Not 60fps? On ultra-low graphics? On an 8GB PC?  This wasn’t really well-optimized). For innocent we have intriguing storyline and innovative vigors and tears thingamabobs and a pleasant experience.

I hereby give Bioshock infinite a no contest verdict.
